The microwave was an important tool in the kitchen all my life. There was a time in my early 20’s that if I had any hot meal it came from the microwave. I even called myself the microwave chef for that.
The microwave has become a staple in the majority of American kitchens. It is used from heating up water for coffee, warming up leftovers, and even cooking whole meals for the family. There is a whole section at the grocery store dedicated to microwave meals. We have created a very fast paced world for ourselves and for some reason feel we need our food as fast as possible.
Well even though the microwave can heat up your food quickly and have you out the door in a jiffy, the microwave has a dark truth and does things to your food that will stop you in your tracks.
The microwave oven heats food through a process of creating molecular friction, but this same molecular friction quickly destroys the delicate molecules of vitamins and phytonutrients (plant medicines) naturally found in foods. Up to 97% of the nutritional content of vegetables is destroyed in the microwave. Vegetables provide the body with the nutrients to prevent cancer, boost immune function, and improve health but you destroy those properties when you microwave them. There have been studies that claim that microwaving destroys the natural harmony found in water molecules, creating an energetic pattern of chaos in the water found in all foods.
Did you know that humans are the unhealthiest animals on the planet? We eat foods full of chemicals and additives. Food that has been genetically modified. Food that has been grown in soil depleted of nutrients and minerals. We eat meat that has been pumped full of hormones and antibiotics. And to top it all off we destroy what is left with heat or even worse the microwave. It is hard to classify what goes into our mouth as food sometimes.
To add insult to injury, many people heat their food in the microwave in plastic or plastic containers. Some plastics emit hormone-mimicking substances called endocrine disrupters, which are now being examined for potential links to birth defects, cancer or fertility problems. If plastic wasn’t doing enough to nature, microwaving with it puts the poison inside you. Not to scare you too much but just think of the damage from warming up a baby bottle in the microwave.
Here are ten reasons why not to use a microwave based on Swiss, Russian and German clinical studies.
1. Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term, permanent, brain damage by "shorting out" electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].
2. The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.
3. Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.
4. The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.
5. Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food are reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.
6. The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in a microwave oven.
7. Micro-waved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This has been a primary contributor to the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in the United States.
8. The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.
9. Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.
10. Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.
Once I learned of the harmful effects of using our most popular kitchen appliance I was taken back. I knew I wanted to stop using the microwave, but it was so convenient and so fast. What about my Jiffy Pop popcorn, my instant oatmeal, or hot tea in the morning? The little “Nuke” machine had a hold on me. I made a choice and the microwave was going in the trash. I went out and purchased a nice convection toaster oven and coupled with other kitchen heating tools like a steamer, slow cooker, and the kitchen range, food got cooked and there have been no problems. There hasn't been a single day of regret and that was 2010.
When it comes to our health, we should take a second look at the things we do. Nobody else is going to do it for us. The choices we make affects our bodies, our thoughts, our family, and our friends. Sadly, we see the health state of the nation and the decline in the health of nations who take on the western diet and way of eating. As individuals, we must take charge of our wellness and those who are parents must ensure the health and well-being of your children.
There is no good from the microwave oven. Bottom line.
If you are going to cook your food, please use the stove or toaster/convection oven. If you must use a microwave, please use a glass or ceramic container.
Health is a choice…. your choice…..choose it.
